From May 20 – June 25th, THEARC in Washington, DC will host an exhibition of nearly 100 pieces of original Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award winning art. The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee of the American Library Association (ALA)’s Ethnic & Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) partnered with the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) to arrange this touring exhibition. It is the largest collection ever of its kind and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the CSK Awards.
The show will spread across two buildings in many of the resident partner spaces of THEARC including The Phillips Collection and ArtReach as well as The Washington Ballet, Levine School of Music, and more. The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday – Friday 7 AM – 5 PM and Saturday 8 AM – 4 PM. Please check in at the welcome desk (either building) for additional information.
